/rp start opens a new post in the RP scenes forum for you and your partners. PokiBot tags everyone, tracks whose turn it is, and keeps a running tally of each person's posts and words at the top of the post. You can also start a scene from Tracked RPs on the site: pick a title, village, your OC, and any partners, and PokiBot posts it in the forum the same way. Already writing in a post you opened yourself? /rp starttracking picks it up with the posts and words written so far.
On the site, Profile → Roleplay is your RP tracker: every active scene marked Your turn, Their turn, Pending, or Paused (your turn on top), open scenes you can join, and final counts from scenes that recently ended. You can also choose your turn DMs there.
/rp start — open a scene
- title and village — the scene name and where it takes place. The post is tagged with the village.
- character — your OC. You post first.
- partner_1 to partner_4 (optional) — tag each partner, then pick their OC in the matching partner_N_character. The rotation runs in that order: you, partner 1, partner 2, and so on.
- premise (optional) — a short setup shown at the top of the post.
- open (optional) — turn on to let anyone join with
/rp join. Without it the scene is Private (the default): invite-only, great for 1:1s, and it grows only when the host adds people.
/rp starttracking — track a post you opened yourself
Already writing in a post you made by hand in the RP scenes forum? Run /rp starttracking inside it. The member who opened the post, anyone who has written in it, or mods can use it, and whoever runs it hosts.
- village, character, partners, premise, and open work the same as
/rp start. - title (optional) — the scene name. Leave it empty to keep the post's current name. The post is renamed with the village prefix and tagged like any other scene.
- PokiBot counts the in-character posts and words already in the post for everyone in the rotation, then picks up the turn order after whoever posted last. It pins a tracker message with the running tally and keeps it updated.
- If someone else has been writing in the post too, PokiBot lists them so you can add them with
/rp join and member. - Edits to posts written before tracking started show up in the final count when the scene ends with
/rp end.
Turns and counts
- Your in-character post passes the turn to the next person, and PokiBot pings them. Normal posts and OC lines (
Name:, see Character aliases) both count. - OOC lines starting with
((, //, [[, or OOC keep your turn and stay out of the totals. - Editing or deleting a post updates the tally, and replying to edit an OC line counts as the same post.
- If a turn sits for a few days, PokiBot sends the writer a gentle reminder in the post. Anyone who leaves the server comes out of the rotation automatically so the scene keeps moving.
Scene status
- Pending — a new scene waiting on its first in-character post.
- Ongoing — the scene is moving. The first in-character post sets this automatically.
- Paused — the scene is on hold until you're ready to continue. The post stays open, turn pings, reminders, and turn DMs pause, and it drops off the open scenes list. Any in-character post brings it back to Ongoing with the turn order where it left off.
- Ended — closed with
/rp end; final counts stay on your profile.
The scene post's forum tags follow the status, so you can filter the forum by Pending or Paused.
Turn DMs
PokiBot can DM you a link to the scene when it's your turn. Choose with /rp dms (anywhere) or on Profile → Roleplay:
- Every turn (default) — a DM whenever the turn passes to you, plus the reminder DM if it sits. If you posted in that scene in the last few minutes, PokiBot leaves the DM out since you're already there.
- Reminders only — a DM only when your turn has been waiting a few days.
- Off — you still get pinged in the scene post.
Turn on DMs from server members in your Discord privacy settings so PokiBot can reach you.
Mention DMs
PokiBot can DM you when someone mentions your OC, so you can catch up on fast channels and jump into the conversation. Turn it on with /rp mentions (anywhere) or on Profile → Roleplay; it starts off.
- What counts — your OC's first or last name (or the full name) as a whole word, in a member's message or an OC line. Matching ignores capitals and accents.
- Where — the Roleplay channels and their threads, the RP scenes forum,
│・headcanons, OC discussion, and the art channels. - What you get — a quote of the message with a link straight to it.
- Pacing — channels you posted in during the last 10 minutes stay quiet since you're already there, and each channel sends at most one DM every 15 minutes. Direct @pings already notify you, so those come through Discord as usual.
Inside the scene post
/rp join — join with one of your OCs; you post last in the rotation. The host and mods can fill in member to add someone else./rp leave — step out of the rotation. If the host leaves, the next person in line hosts./rp skip — pass the current turn along. The writer whose turn it is, the host, or mods can use it./rp mark — the host or mods set the scene to Pending, Ongoing, or Paused. Pausing keeps the post open and holds the turn order until you pick it back up./rp end — the host or mods close the scene. PokiBot recounts the whole post, shares the final posts and words for everyone, then locks and archives it. Run /rpexport first if you want a copy of the scene.
